TEN MOST RECENT FILMS WATCHED: Out of respect for Dallas’s Premiere Video, we went to the DVD library A LOT for this group of films

I take pride in my DVD library. And the news that Dallas’s Premiere Video was done fighting the good fight gave me the inspiration to dig into the shelves and watch some films that I hadn’t seen in awhile and actually watch some discs I hadn’t yet cracked open. It’s about as eclectic a combo as I’ve had since starting this section on Festworks, which is one of the reasons I wanted to get people to check in and compare what they are watching to what I am watching and inspire all of us to discover more. And I’ve got a couple months before the next film festival run starts up again, so this could be a summer filled with wildly divergent choices, veering from one genre to another, classic to the unexpected.

So, what have you been watching…?

  1. Well, to be fair, there isn’t A LOT of time in between viewing
    each of the films…

  2. The usual eclectic list of a paid critic (like the old gal said, ‘First you do it for love, then you do it for fun, finally you do it for money’ — I’ll let you guess which is which): So, going backwards from last night: Unforgiven,The Magnetic Monster, The Front Page, Megan Leavey, Everything Everything, War Machine, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, The Commune.
